An End is Only a Beginning in Disguise

As the program comes to an end, we are experiencing many “lasts” together. Recently, we went on our final retreat—the closing retreat—and it was such a meaningful way to wrap up this season. During the retreat, we spent time in nature reflecting on our journey through the program and all that God has done in our lives: the growth, the blessings, and even the challenges. Life has felt so fast-paced lately, so having the opportunity to slow down and reflect was something I truly needed.

Between journaling sessions, we shared meals and spent time doing activities together. We went on a hike and were able to take in the beautiful mountain views, which reminded me of how incredible God’s creation is. From the warm, sunny weather to the shooting stars filling the night sky, every moment reflected God’s goodness. We sat around the fire, played games, and simply enjoyed being in each other’s company. It is such a blessing to be surrounded by people who bring encouragement and joy.

We also spent time by the pond and river, once again appreciating the beauty of creation and the peace it brings. At the end of the retreat, we gathered together to share what God had revealed to us through our journaling and reflection time. That part of the retreat was especially impactful for me. Watching God move in my friends’ lives and hearing them share vulnerably was incredibly special. Vulnerability is not always easy, but through their openness I learned so much.

I will always be grateful that God placed me in this program. One of the biggest things I am taking away from this retreat is the importance of slowing down, finding peace and quiet, and reflecting on what God is doing and has already done in my life. There is so much growth and wisdom that can come from taking the time to reflect. Even though the program is coming to an end, I get to experience many beginnings: starting a full-time job, moving into my own apartment, getting married, and stepping into this new season of life with a loving God.
