As a participant in the Pittsburgh Fellows program, I've had the incredible opportunity to dive deep into the heart of Pittsburgh. Working full-time while also serving multiple times a month in various parts of the city has ignited an excitement within me to explore Pittsburgh's unique neighborhoods.
So far, we have visited multiple neighborhoods within the city either to serve or learn about them. From the trendy streets of Lawrenceville to the bustling atmosphere of Downtown and the culturally rich Hill District, each experience has added a new layer to my understanding and appreciation of this city. The people we’ve met and the stories we’ve heard have all played a role in making me feel more connected to Pittsburgh. My drive to work in the South Hills shows me further the beauty and diversity that the city has to offer.
As a Cleveland Browns fan, you may find it hard to believed that I am opening up to Pittsburgh. While I may not be cheering for the Steelers any time soon, I'm finding a home here because of the opportunities that the Pittsburgh Fellows has provided to me. The warmth and resilience of its residents, combined with the city's vibrant culture, are slowly but surely winning me over. I'm excited to continue exploring all that Pittsburgh has to offer and to further deepen my connection to this amazing city.
